Dr. Jason Oilar grew up in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. He has lived and practiced in several locations across the country including Pittsburgh, Minneapolis and Fort Lauderdale. He has received degrees and training from the following institutions:

Nova Southeastern University – Doctor of Optometry (OD)
Braverman Eye Center – Residency Trained is Ocular Disease and Geriatric Optometry
Nova Southeastern University – Bachelor of Science in Vision Science (BS)
Oregon State University – Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Florida International University – Bachelor of Arts in Economics (BA)
He is currently involved in the following organizations:

Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS)
Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (FIAOMC) (only fellow in Oregon, 1 of 130 worldwide)

Dr. Oilar has focused his practice in the area of specialty contact lenses and medical eye care. His passion is restoring vision and the quality of life for patients that suffer from corneal disease and other age related eye conditions. He also takes great pride in preventing vision loss through the technique of orthokeratology, which can prevent the progression of nearsightedness in children and subsequent ocular complications.

During his time outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Juliana, son Lucas and daughter Isabel.

Marketing and Strategic Business Development

Juliana, originally from Colombia, moved to the U.S. in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. 

After working as an engineer at a consulting engineering firm for a couple of years, she began transitioning her career into administration. In 2012 she graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master in Business Administration (MBA degree), which allowed her to start a career in one of America’s Fortune 100 corporations, gaining valuable experience in Marketing and Business Strategy.

Juliana manages Marketing and the Strategic and Business Development planning of the practice since 2015.  When not at work, she spends all of her time with her husband Dr. Jason Oilar and with their son and daughter, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mitzie has been in the optical field since 1990, and with EyeCare Focus and Specialties since 1997.   

She has done everything from front desk, insurance billing, optician and now currently an optometric technician.  She works closely with Dr. Oilar in helping with specialty contact lens fittings and dry eye treatments.

Mitzie really enjoys building lasting relationships, and taking care of patients she encounters on a daily basis. Mitzie enjoys gardening, golfing, traveling with her husband and spending time with her granddaughter.

Savannah joined the team in July of 2024. Savannah is one of our Optometry Technicians, but also occasionally helps with the front desk. New to the optometry world, she has thoroughly enjoyed broadening her knowledge in the optometry field, and loves working with such a wonderful and supportive team.

In Savannah's spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She has a heart for helping people and enjoys getting to know anyone she meets. Savannah also enjoys camping, football, music, road trips, and reading.

New to the optical world, Lynette enjoys being a receptionist and helping patients. She takes pride in making a great experience for people who walk in the door.

When she's not at work, Lynette loves being outdoors whether it's going on an adventure, a bike ride or floating down a river. Also, enjoys music and dancing. Most of all she loves being a mother to her son and daughter!

Savannah joined the EyeCare Focus and Specialties team July of 2024. She is our insurance coordinator and available to help navigate the ins and outs of the insurance process to provide an easy and enjoyable experience.

Savannah is an artist and enjoys anything outdoors with her significant other and her daughter. You can find her in the art studio with her daughter, or out in the beautiful PNW exploring and foraging.
